Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno Tops Philippine Box Office For Five Days! By Now, More Pinoy Pridists Might Be More Butthurt Than Before!

Well looks like my wait has been WORTH IT... especially if it beats the stupid Failipino film industry and hopefully, this movie will teach Filipino producers on how to do a quality movie!  Now for some amazing facts from the Philippine Star which I copied word for word from the article for clarity to my readers:

Posting the biggest receipts was SM Megamall with P2.39 million over five days, while Trinoma was second with P2.16 million, and SM Cebu at third with P1.62 million.
In the Top Ten Theaters are SM Mall of Asia (P1.57 million), Glorietta 4 (P1.41 million), SM North EDSA (P1.38 million), Ayala Cebu (P1.30 million), Greenbelt 3 (P1.23 million), Eastwood (P866,850) and Gateway (P864,056).
Completing the Top Twenty are Alabang Town Center (P841,091), Greenhills (P774,768), Shangri-la (P743,634), Power Plant (P717,510), SM Aura (P655,044), Centrio Cagayan de Oro (P643,260), Robinsons Ermita (P617,200), Robinsons Magnolia (P608,664), Bonifacio High Street (P597,550) and Market! Market! (P579,084).

All I can say is, who wouldn't want to watch a great movie like this and be willing to pay high price for a ticket?  I mean, after that positive review from Rappler by Zig Marasigan would make me want to check out the film ASAP.  The wait from last 2012 was probably worth its while as Rurouni Kenshin's second film actually ended up as a real hit.  I mean the earnings this time was PHP 42.61 million while the last earnings were PHP 40.4 million.  It was a huge increase!  Besides, any theater that might not be showing the film, may just be quite sorry to miss the huge phenomenon.  Oh boy, I wonder if any Pinoy pridist theaters existed, they must be crying tears of blood by now!

All I can say is the protectionists must be now requesting for more butthurt protection laws to protect their sorry asses from any more foreign competition, which in turn will force them to be more competitive.  One can see that the whole reason behind "protectionism like 60/40 is to protect the bullying oligarchs.  Sad to say but Philippine film industry has literally taken a dive for the worse.  You hardly see any Philippine-made film that is worth taking into the foreign market!  The third movie will show on September 24, 2014 and so I do expect more butthurts.

  1. Well, i hate to tell this, but the butthurts do suck like the PH entertainment industry, good thing i focus more on what the Japanese acts do. (Good thing my fandom for Toku saved me!)
