Vic Zhou for "Love You Ten Thousand Years"

I kind of think though that this movie presents a rather challenging role for Zai Zai. Why? Well he has to have the "cute image" and the "bad boy image" where he is going to try and present a "Shaw Brothers" song while doing a classic "rock" image. Hmmm is this trying to resurrect Shaw or modernize it? He is paired beside Kato Yuki whom I just don't find even cute. I kind of think though he's combining Andy Lau's and Chin Han's styles for this new film giving a nostalgia of me watching 70s-80s films.

  1. According to the director Toyo Kitamura, this supposes to be a artistic satire with a "serious thespian intent and approach". If Zai Zai tried to imitate Andy Lau's HK "McDonald's" style of acting (typified in that mess of a movie X Future Cop) on this, what a hilarious embarrassment that would be, considering it was one of several film the producer had brought to the Cannes Film Festival.

  2. If I weren't mistaken, that's Kato Koyuki, a well respected model/actress in Japan. She had been around, even appeared in the Hollywood film "The Last Samurai" with Tom Cruise. But then, she also had the misjudgement of participating in HK trash director Ronny Yu's "Blood the Vampire" disaster.

Furthermore, she is no kiddie cute like Liu Yi Fei, or Esther lui because she is five years older than Zai Zai. This might be an intentional taboo pairing, especially in Hong Kong where the requirement seems to be that the male leads (Andy Lau, Tony Leung, Louis Koo) have to be at least 20 years older than the female leads
