Remembering Donnie Yen's Ip Man Movies

So Donnie Yen doesn't look anything like Ip Man but... I have to consider I had a better picture of him when he was acting as Ip Man who was the martial arts mentor of Bruce Lee. Now considering the real life Ip Man's biography, Ip Man was a master of Wing Chun. Donnie Yen also is a master of Wing Chun which makes it appropriate for him to play the Wing Chun master's role for the semi-biographical films. Wilson Yip is also a genius director.
The first film of Ip Man features the martial arts master during World War 2, his wife (acted by Lynn Hung, Aaron Kwok's ex-girlfriend). I was amazed at seeing more of Donnie Yen than I first saw him during the failure that was Huadu Chronicles. I would admit that I enjoyed every last fight he had especially against Hiroyuki Ikeuchi. I would say Donnie Yen really knows how to kick ass.
The second film I saw was Ip Man 2 which features Sammo Hung, Huang Xiaoming and Iranian boxer Darren Shahlavi. Best scenes? I love the fight scenes of Donnie Yen vs. Sammo Hung (Hung Chun-Nam was a former enemy of Ip Man who later dies in the film) and Darren Shahlavi who plays the British boxer who was just dubbed as "Taylor Milos" as the real name was never revealed. In either way, both scenes that Donnie Yen did are just breathtaking, making me think he REALLY deserves tribute in Gekiranger as Gorie Yen!

Yup the Gekirangers and the Fist Saints ALL AGREE that Donnie Yen is a legend!
