Martial Arts Legend Jet Li's Battle With Thyroidism

It had me concerned that one of my favorite old school actors Jet Li was actually battling thyroidism for a decade or so. I could still think of this legend and I remembered his movies Black Mask, Hitman, Meltdown, Fearless, his role as the Chinese version of the Mummy in Mummy 3 and the Forbidden Kingdom (where he teamed up with Jackie Chan) to name a few. Just recently, fans of him (including myself) feel bad in a way for his condition even if I don't know him personally.

Who can't forget his contribution to the martial arts cinema world? It was only normal that 2007 became a year for him to get honored with a character based on him in Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger in the form of martial arts master Bat Li. Bat was known for acrobatic moves much as the actor himself. It was only fitting that he would be among the actors who would get a tribute in Gekiranger aside from Sammo Hung, Donnie Yen, Jackie Chan, Michelle Yeoh and Yuen Biao. He's a big legend!

Here's an update from the legend taken from the South China Morning Post:

Yup, it's good to have him being supported past his prime. People will one day step out of the spotlight but we shouldn't forget their contributions. These legends are leaving us lessons to learn for the future generations. Kudos to him as he becomes an example in helping people with illnesses fight up to the last!
