One Takeru Will Turn 60 Next Year, Another Takeru Turned 30 This Year
Well I just want to consider how fast time flies. People born in 1988 have turned 30 years old this year. Tori Matsuzaka turned 30 last October 17, 2018. As for Kazunori Inaba -- he's turning 60 by next year meaning since he was born on December 19, 1959. It really reminds me of how both Takerus remind us that time flies really fast. The 29 year age gap makes Inaba old enough to be Matsuzaka's father!
So I thought about how both Takerus did their respective roles. Matsuzaka wasn't so lucky since he didn't have the legendary red ranger stuntman Kazuo Niibori back him up. Inaba was both a good actor and had Niibori for back-up. I still can't forget how Inaba tends to play a stronger red ranger. Matsuzaka seems to suffer from some of the same issues that Kotaro Tanaka had when playing Red Hawk. But guess who got more popular?
The career of Inaba though didn't kick off as much as Matsuzaka who's young enough to be his son. Matsuzaka would soon have a life beyond the role of Shinkenger's lead protagonist. Matsuzaka can be seen with more projects. Meanwhile, I do find it baffling that Inaba who's supposedly the better actor didn't get much of a major career. Instead, Inaba succeeded more as an entrepreneur than an actor. So I guess Toku wasn't so impressive back then?
I thought how both of them actually contributed much to Tokusatsu's rather long history. It's easy to say that both their characters do tend to indirectly steal the show. Maskman may not make Red Mask steal the show yet the show can't move forward without him -- which made Red Mask my first favorite red ranger ever! Shinkenger's shadow lord Takeru ends up shadowing even the real Shinken Red. Heck, is it me or is Runa Natsui (the real Shinken Red) even still overshadowed by Matsuzaka in real life in terms of popularity? Hmmm and too bad Inaba didn't have so may big roles later. SO really, what happened?
Anyway, I'd like to still greet Inaba a happy 59th birthday and next year will be his 60th year. Hmmm huge milestone there!
