Why It's Easier For Me To Take Suzy Bae Seriously Over Maaya Uchida

I still can't help but do another Maaya vs. Suzy post. I've noticed that while I did get interested with Maaya Uchida during Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger but I somehow started to lose interest in her when I discovered Suzy Bae in acting. Right now, while watching Vagabond and hearing of the upcoming film Baekdu Mountain - I still think about Maaya getting stuck with cutesy roles.


I wanted to keep an open mind with seeing Maaya Uchida after Akibaranger. I started noticing her commercials. Turns out she does have that high-pitched Anime-ish voice that makes her seem like a silly girl. I really find it too hard to take her seriously due to her Anime-ish, cute girl approach.


On the other hand - one should consider Suzy's upcoming role for Baekdu Mountain and her current role in Vagabond. Before that, while I'm no fan of K-Pop but I'd rather listen to Suzy's singing than Maaya who feels too much like a cartoon character. Suzy may look like a cartoon character but looking at her roles past Dream High then it's very easy to take her seriously. Her current role as Go Hae Ri mixes some comedy and seriousness so well. I still can't help but feel her intense emotions like she did in Gu Family Book. She may look like an Anime character but she doesn't sound like one. Plus, she's got her archery and taekwondo to brag about!
