Jacky Cheung's Cantonese Cover Of "Sana Kahit Minsan"

It's no surprise when a song gets famous -- it's bound to get international recognition. Celeste Legaspi's song "Ice Cream Man" got a Cantonese cover by Paula Tsui? How Jacky Cheung managed to get the rights to Ariel Rivera's song -- may not be revealed. It's a private transaction with some open acknowledgment to the OG. FYI it's NOT a literal translation but a cover -- with a different meaning!

The movie Future Cops was screened in the Philippines as Return of Street Fighter. Yes, that cheesy Filipino English dub! Back then, I used to accuse Saban Entertainment of bootlegging -- which is impossible. A bootleg is an illegal reproduction. Jacky paid for the royalty fees -- meaning that Vehnee Saturno (the composer) laughed his way to the bank. How Jacky was able to meet Vehnee is not exactly disclosed. Again, RESPECT CONFIDENTIALITY!

The tune is rather catchy. Jacky would've probably fallen for it. Did Jacky go to the Philippines at some point? Perhaps Jacky did and heard the song over. Regine Velasquez-Alcasid probably introduced Jacky to Vehnee and the two struck a deal. Of course, Jacky spoke English but not Tagalog. A literal translation was probably sent to Jacky. Jacky would then write completely different lyrics to the same tune.
