My Thoughts On Friends Forever, Minus Ken Zhu?

This brings back memories because F4 was my ENTRY POINT to East Asian entertainment. After F4, there was Jay Zhou, though I wasn't a fan of Ashin (Chen Hsin Hung). I was more of a fan of Jerry Yan and Vanness Wu back in the day. In my case, I could remember my on/off romantic interest with a girl who looks like the late Barbie Xu (who I'm still friends with). I could remember how F4 introduced me not just to Jay Chou but also Aaron Kwok, Jolin Tsai, and many more. The Pepsi commercials were the good old days.

However, it was also that time, sometime in college, when I discovered Ken Zhu had personal issues. That may explain why Ken's not showing up. The issues with women and his douchy attitude was why I didn't even bother with his album. By then, I was already having Jerry Yan's first album, Vic Zhou's two albums, Vanness Wu's first album, and then I got into 5566 as well. People argued in the F4 vs. 5566 fan wars while I listened to both songs. F4 and 5566 brought me a rich library of appreciating the culture I wanted to dump forever. But Ken was OUT as far as concerned due to some scandal. If only I could remember what that scandal was -- I think it was with one of his many ex-girlfriends!

Right now, I think about reminiscing about the past while moving forward. F4 was the entry. Jay Zhou was the entry point. F4 Pepsi Nine Stars filmed sometime in 2003 -- during the SARS breakout and the same year when Anita Mui died. It was that time I got to listen to the F4 Pepsi Nine Stars song -- which for me has been the best Chinese language Pepsi ad!

However, the Hallyu Wave came. I tried to stick to the Taiwan wave, but the Hallyu wave came as well. I watched more Japanese stuff. For me, F4 is but another of my casual interests!
