Rin Takanashi and Suzuka Morita: The Delightful Female Duo of Shinkenger!
Move over Megaforce girls, the Shinkenger girls are way better. I always thought Shinkenger had its charm of casting actors and actresses, I would talk about the two girls namely Rin Takanashi and Suzuka Morita. I always thought about the charm both girls had in their roles.
The obvious favoritism I have is with Rin Takanashi's character of Mako Shiraishi. I always thought she was really born to play Mako. Performance-wise, her previous experience with Goth prior to Shinkenger had helped her out. Having her act as Mako had its own charm which I compare to Amy Jo Johnson-Giner acting as Kimberly for Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers way back in 1993, similar yet different in some way. She practically beats both Ciara Hanna and Christina Masterson with her charm in acting out her character as Mako.
While I like her less but I still like her mainly because the actress Suzuka Morita acting as Kotoha Hanaori reminds me of Sayuri Uchida's acting in Jetman. She's basically born to play Kotoha. Maybe I'm not that fond of her but still... I doubt it she's even overshadowed. Yes Mako is more popular but most likely by a very small difference. She's less popular but only by a few points and as said, Japan is into Kawaii culture so it balances her and Mako out when it comes to Shinkenger. I don't think she really needs Rin's help to beat Ciara and Christina but the fact she's got Rin's help puts out the Megaforce female duo over and out. If I'm not comparing her with Ako, I also want to compare her moe nature to Mei in Zyuranger minus the high-pitched voice that Japanese tend to like in their characters, but strangely I'm not a fond of it.
When put together, I always thought this is a powerful combination of hot and moe in just one show. It hardly happens in Super Sentai where you have hot and moe in one show. With what I said earlier, I pretty much want to call this as having Kimberly and Mei in one show instead of having them in separate shows.
